Have you recently broken a tooth in Chicago, Illinois? If so, Dr. Nidal Obeid and our dental team have some information that can help you handle the situation and even save the tooth.
The first thing you need to do is call our office and schedule an emergency appointment. Next, rinse your mouth with cold water. This will help wash away any blood or debris in your mouth. Then, reduce any swelling by placing a cold compress to the area. If you’re experiencing extreme pain, you can also take over-the-counter pain medication.
The second thing you need to do is pick up the tooth pieces and keep them in a safe place. When you come to our office, bring them with you. Your dentist will try to put the tooth back together.
The third thing you need to do is consider talking to your dentist about a custom-made mouthguard. A mouthguard can protect your smile and help you avoid dental injuries in the future.
If you have any questions or if you need additional help, please remember that our dental team at Family Dental of Roscoe is always here to assist you. All you need to do is dial 773-327-6500 and we will be happy to give you the answers and assistance you need.
